Course Information

Level 1: (Thursday Online) Google Classroom & Google Meet 

This course is a short term training designed for students who have no or little background of learning Korean. This course consists of 2 parts. In the 1st part, for about 1/3 of the total class hours, this course will introduce Korean alphabets ‘Hangeul’ focusing on the phonetic value of each letter and characteristics of syllable structure. In the 2nd part, this course will focus on providing students with a foundation for acquiring their basic Korean language skills using grammar and vocabulary. Also, students will learn to improve their communication skills with familiar topics in daily life such as greetings, self-introduction, and daily activities etc. Students are also expected to raise their understanding of Korean culture through their language experience in class.

Level 2: (In-person) Class canceled this semester 

This course is a short-term training designed for students who have completed beginner 1 level in Korean or students who are equivalent to this level. In this class, students will learn the various conjunctive endings, markers, expressions, and vocabularies that are used in daily life. Students are also expected to raise their understanding of Korean culture through their language experience in class. This class will be online and offline. At the beginning of the class, we decide together how many offline classes will be held or you will attend. Students learn basic grammar and vocabulary through the class. Students can practice speaking, listening, and reading activities with classmates and the teacher. Writing practice will be given for homework. Self-study is required for 2-3hours a week. 

Level 3 (In-person): Class canceled this semester 

This course is a short-term training designed for students who have completed beginner 2 level in Korean or students who are equivalent to this level.
This course is useful for learners who want to improve their communication skills on personal topics frequently encountered in their daily life, in public spaces, and in social situations after learning basic Korean.
Students are also expected to raise their understanding of Korean culture through their language experience in class. 

Level 4 (In person): Class canceled this semester 

This course is a short-term training designed for students who have completed the beginner level or students who are equivalent to this level. 

Aim to increase students' ability to communicate in Korean in a wide range of daily life situations with an equal focus on expanding and consolidating students' knowledge of the fundamental grammar of Korean. 

Carrying out transactions with people in public spaces and maintaining social relationships and can express one’s opinion on general topics.

 Students can practice speaking, listening, and reading with classmates and the teacher. Writing practice will be given for homework. Self-study is required for 2-3hours a week.

Level 5 (Online): 

Your language skill refers to being able to speak a language but with some difficulty.
You can't speak with the speed of a native, and your vocabulary is still limited.

In this course, you will be able to build on your current vocabulary and improve your understanding of grammar and context. Also covers cultural aspects of language conversation to aid you in understanding words and phrases in context.

At this level, you are also exposed to the forms of communication needed for employment.

Students can practice speaking, listening, and reading with classmates and the teacher. Writing practice will be given for homework. Self-study is required for a minimum of 2-3 hours a week.

Level 6 (Online): google classroom & google meet 

This course is aimed to develop accuracy and fluency. Focus on developing the student’s speaking, listening comprehension, and communication skills in Korean. 

Students are able to use the learned expressions and grammar patterns more comfortably and confidently. The topic-based lesson helps learners to understand conversation skills and society from an intercultural perspective.
